Elizabeth Odondi

CHAIRPERSON

Elizabeth is a committed human rights lawyer, policy researcher, and intersectional feminist, dedicated to bridging local efforts to empower women with broader initiatives for African economic reform. Her approach, grounded in social justice, feminism, and gender equity, led to the co-founding of the Social Justice League. Alongside fellow lawyers, they combat gender-based violence, advocate for reproductive rights, and empower women in leadership roles.
Beyond sector boundaries, Elizabeth tackles interconnected issues with a holistic approach, aiming for comprehensive solutions. Through her articles on sexual and reproductive health, governance, and gender rights, she amplifies marginalized voices and fosters meaningful discussions. Proudly championing feminist principles, she collaborates with like-minded individuals and organizations to advance Sustainable Development Goals 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, and 17.
Elizabeth’s passion for gender justice propels her towards tangible change, driving her unwavering commitment to improving the lives of women and girls through strategic advocacy and collaborative action.

Judith Juma

VICE-CHAIRPERSON

Judith Juma is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a reader of International Law with experience working with government and non-governmental organizations. She is a dedicated legal researcher with a background in Access to Justice, Public Procurement, leading Election Observation Missions in Kenya and Monitoring compliance of Political Parties with electoral laws.

As one of the Co-Founders of the Social Justice League (SJL), she deputizes the organization’s Chairperson and brings leadership, research and project management skills to the organization with a keen interest in serving communities. She also enjoys interacting with youth and adolescents drawn from her experience working with the Board of Management of Pumwani Girls’ Secondary School, Nairobi, Kenya as its Legal Advisor and Welfare Committee Member. Judith is passionate about making a difference anywhere. Outside of her work, you will find herlistening to classical and contemporary jazz, reading a blend of fiction and non-fiction or writing poetry.

Rachel Kiema

SECRETARY

Rachel is a lawyer by profession with qualification to practice as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya. With a wealth of experience in both private and public sectors, Rachel is a legal powerhouse, specializing in Corporate Governance, Strategic Litigation, Legal Research and Advisory Services.
As the Secretary of the Social Justice League (SJL), she’s the backbone of communication as she plays the critical role of ensuring proper management and utilization of important organizational records. Rachel is well conversant with the Kenyan legal system, its regulatory frameworks and other global operating environments thus ensuring SJL operates smoothly and ethically.
Beyond her professional qualifications, Rachel is a fitness enthusiast, loves reading, music and has a penchant for outdoor activities and travelling.

Hidaya Amisi Ondere

TREASURER

Hidaya has over 10 years professional experience working in the Banking and Finance Industry in Kenya. She currently works as a Senior Operations Officer for State Bank of Mauritius, Kenya. She has held this role from August 2018. She is responsible for operations, service delivery and Financial Management in the branch. Before this role, she held the role of Senior Officer Operations for Chase Bank, Ngong Road branch. Here, she held several roles including cash handling processes, branch profitability and budget handling, Branch reconciliations and many others.
As treasurer for Social Justice League, Hidaya handles several roles including budgeting, financial planning and fundraising strategies of the organization. She is in charge of donor funds management and reporting, ensuring total compliance with donor conditions and effective utilization of the given resources. She also handles financial reporting, audit management and investments of the organization. Moreover, she manages control of cash, assets and all other banking operations.
Hidaya is currently a Carbon Management graduate student from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. She holds a postgraduate diploma in Project Management from the Kenya Institute of Management, a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from St. Paul’s University Kenya and a certificate in Business Skills and Competency from London School of Business and Finance.
